Rock Engineering& Slope Stability

DFEC assesses the geological structure, failure mechanisms and consequence profile of natural and excavated rock slopes. The objective is to identify credible hazards and develop proportionate stabilization measures that respond to the actual rock mass, geometry, groundwater and infrastructure constraints.

DFEC advises on the evaluation and design of rock slopes and cuttings, with particular experience in transportation corridors through the Hajar Mountains. The work centres on understanding discontinuity-controlled behaviour, identifying credible failure mechanisms, and specifying reinforcement and drainage that can actually be built.

Consultancy is independent of the contractor’s physical execution. DFEC defines the engineering problem, develops the design basis, and supports the client or contractor through construction with technical review—not installation.

Typical applications: Road and railway cuttings, mountain roads, portal approaches, infrastructure corridors, development platforms, natural escarpments and slopes adjacent to operational assets.
